Crisis Supervisor

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Crisis Supervisor to join our team. In this full-time role, you will manage on-call schedules, build positive relationships with workers, and engage in community outreach initiatives. Key responsibilities include making referrals and delivering mental health education to community members and their families. This role is essential in fostering well-being and strengthening the community’s mental health resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and ensure the fair and consistent preparation of monthly on-call schedules.
• Maintain and update Crisis Response manuals and guidelines and ensure accessibility of community resources and pamphlets.
• Liaise with external agencies such as Treaty #3 Police, hospitals, and the KCA Crisis Team.
• Provide navigation services and follow-up care for members after incidents.
• Conduct weekly debriefings with workers, management, and external agencies as involved.
• Complete administrative tasks including assessments, case notes, timesheets, expense claims, and weekly maintenance of the workspace.
• Stay informed about relevant legislation, best practices, current research, and policy and procedure updates.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and complete mandatory training.
• Participate in additional duties as required, such as committees, staff meetings, special events, and accreditation projects.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated understanding of and sensitivity to issues impacting children, youth, and families.
• Experience in delivering community support services, particularly in mental health and crisis intervention.
• Certifications in WHMIS, ASIST, and First Aid/CPR, or successful completion required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong independent problem-solving skills.
• In-depth understanding of Indigenous and community issues.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license is considered an asset.
• Must provide a clear vulnerable sector check and current criminal reference check
