Niisaachewan Anishinaabe Nation is currently looking for a highly organized individual to fulfill the following full-time contract position until project completion.

General Responsibilities

  • Co-manage projects including new builds, renovations, and infrastructure
  • Development of a detailed scope of work & budget per project
  • Preparation of request for quotations (RFQs), request for information (RFIs), Request for Proposals (RFPs), and bid tendering for minor construction works including residential dwellings
  • Coordination with all related technical services
  • Manage the procurement of general contractors, sub-contractors and their scope of work with the general contractor
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Complete project reporting as required
  • Review and approval of construction progress and renovation invoicing
  • Review and understand drawings and specifications for accuracy
  • Review and process shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, Site Instructions & Change Orders
  • Monitor and maintain a high quality of workmanship and accountability of sub-contractors, and contractors
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Coordinate the utilization of local labour, resources, equipment during construction work
  • Communicate with contractors, suppliers, and leadership.
  • Coordination of Regional, Federal, and Provincial funding programs including administrative work, completion of reports
  • Liaison between General Contractors, Chief and Council and Housing Committee
  • Identify and prioritize units that require repairs & maintenance and oversee renovation program
  • Reports directly to Portfolio Holder & Administration, adheres to Administration, Finance, Policies and processes that are applicable to NANA


    • Experience in related field including Project Management, Human Resources, and Financial Fluency
    • 3+ years of construction project management experience
    • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
    • Valid driver’s license and access to vehicle
