Health Manager

Our First Nation community is seeking a dedicated and culturally competent Health Manager to lead our health programs and services. In this role, you will play a vital part in improving the overall health and well-being of our Anishinaabe people.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, manage, and liaise with all health care service providers, programs, and activities
• Network with other communities, agencies and organizations to improve health services
• Provide direction and supervision to all health staff
• Provide oversight and assist in referrals for counseling, advocacy, and crisis intervention in a confidential and non-judgmental manner to all clients
• Attend various meetings as required and as it pertains to healthcare in general and relevant to the community
• Stay up to date with all current events pertaining to the health care system and health care services provincially and federally
• Prepare and maintain accurate daily and monthly activity, statistical, and financial reports
• Update NAN emergency management plan as required
• Reports directly to Band Manager
• Meet and liaise regularly with Portfolio holder
• Provide monthly reports to the customary council
• Reporting to Indigenous Services Canada for all health funding received

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and organizational skills both verbal and written
• Leadership ability with strong interpersonal skills
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office in its entirety, specifically Excel
• Experience and knowledge in health administration services and resources
• Must maintain a Healthy Lifestyle
• Access to vehicle and a valid license required
