Niisaachewan Anishinaabe Nation has confirmed 3 members have tested positive for Covid-19.

On November 26th 2020, Chief and Council were notified that a household of 3 in the community have tested positive, and the family is under quarantine.

Leadership in community is working with Public Health Officials and contact tracing will begin as soon as possible.

To ensure the safety of everyone, and make sure proper contact tracing can be conducted the gate will not open till 1:00pm on Friday, November 27th.

This closure will include any members who are working out of community, have medical appointments or any other plans, and we apologize for any inconvenience this causes.

Further to this the Band Office will be closed effectively immediately, and staff will be given notice when there is plans to re-open.

We remind everyone to follow Public Health guidelines, which includes maintaining social distancing, wearing proper PPE and limiting social gathering.

We take the safety of our members very seriously, and will be doing everything we can to address this head on and ensure everyone’s safety is a top priority.
