The NRF program was first introduced in 2014 by MNRF for the First Nations to assist them in networking and making relationships with governments and industry. This program hired a consultation coordinator to be a liaison between the OON, government agencies and industry wanting to do business in and around our traditional homelands.

The consultation coordinator represents the OON, attends meetings and workshops to bring back information then reports to Chief and Council and Heads People. This has been very successful as we have made an electronic and a paper library relevant to the lands and resources in our traditional homeland. We’ve also made governments and industry adhere to the Canadian law which states that our First Nation must be contacted and consulted with information sessions on any activities in our traditional homeland.

For any questions or information that any OON member has regarding this program please stop by the office or call for further clarification.
